 Aromadermatology
Aromadermatology is the practice of combining the scientific knowledge of essential oils and other natural products with the art of aromatherapy to produce effective treatments for the skin. Following my long-standing interest in dermatology and skin health, I initiated the writing of the first evidence-based textbook for aromatherapists covering dermatology Aromadermatology - aromatherapy in the treatment and care of common skin conditions. Working closely with my friend and colleague, pharmacist-aromatherapist Philippa Buck, I spent many hours sifting and sorting a huge number of research papers in the preparation and writing of the book,. Since its publication in 2006 it has received much favourable comment and favour, not only from the aromatherapy profession itself - its principal target readership - but also the wider medical community.
I have presented at a number of conferences and seminars on the subject and teach an annual Certificate course in conjunction with the Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, London.
